2009 Sydney Royal Easter Show

Wool Addiction is supporting six Hand Knitting classes in the Arts Competition at the Sydney Royal Easter Show!

Have you ever thought about entering the Sydney Easter Show Arts Competition?

It only costs $10 per class to enter, and apart from the thrill of seeing your work exhibited alongside the best in NSW, you could win prizes including Wool Addiction gift vouchers.

A $50 Wool Addiction voucher will be awarded to the winner of each of the following classes:

• 109 - Baby's Shawl
• 111 - Baby's Dress
• 113 - Adult's Cardigan or Pullover, with sleeves, 8 ply or equivalent
• 116 - Finest Shetland Lace Scarf (not less than 120cm long), or Shawl
• 121 - Creative Knitting, of Original Design, any technique
• 124 - Knitted Lace, silk or plant fibre eg cotton, bamboo, etc.
  

Why not pop in to our shop in Bowral, or check our webshop for ideas, yarns and patterns?

This year you can enter online, and the closing date is 5pm on Monday 2nd February. Your exhibit doesn't need to be delivered to the Sydney Showground until 27-28 March, so you still have plenty of time to complete your masterpiece! You can even enter an item you have already completed, as long as it hasn't been washed.

Christmas holiday opening hours

Wool Addiction will be open for last minute Christmas shopping until 2pm on Christmas Eve, Wednesday 24th December.

We have some great gift ideas such as Namaste knitting bags from only $65, Art Viva needles sets from $59.95 and a wide range of gorgeous books. If you can't decide, why not opt for a Gift Voucher?

We will re-open on Tuesday 6th January 2009.

Harry Christmas?

Oh, I know, I promised no more socks for a while.... but so many customers are asking about the new Opal Harry Potter Sock Yarn that I just need to slip in a little update...

This highly-anticipated yarn has now arrived in Australia, and cleared Customs, and is winging its way to Bowral as we speak.

Hot on the heels of a tea-cosy

Hot on the heels of the fabulous Rosie Posy Tea Cosy comes our second free downloadable pattern ... Toddler Socks!

Yes, I know, we've been talking about socks non-stop since we launched our website, but who could resist these?  They're ultra-cute, very quick to make, and a brilliant way to use up all those leftovers from a winter of knitting socks for grown-ups.

They'll make lovely easy-to-post stocking-fillers (sorry!) for any little Northern Hemisphere friends this Christmas.  In fact, if today's weather is anything to go by, they'll go down pretty well DownUnder this summer too!

Just like last week, if you want to download and print the pattern, you'll need to register as a customer at our new online shop.  But the good news is that if you've already dowloaded Rosie Posy, all you'll need to do is log in!

The results showed that every single person who voted wants to be able to download patterns from the Wool Addiction website.  And, 70% of voters want to be able to buy yarn online, check stock levels, and read product reviews.

Well, your wish is our command ... we have made all these dreams come true by launching our new Wool Addiction Online Store!

To celebrate the launch we have spoken to Loani Prior, author of Wild Tea Cosies, and she has kindly allowed us to add her lovely Rosie Posy Tea Cosy pattern to our new shop as a FREE download.

All you need to do to get your own copy, is visit the Wool Addiction Online Store, add a Rosie Posy to your shopping cart, and enter your details.

Don't forget to make a note of the password you choose - you'll be able to log in and download the pattern again if you lose it.
